Credit-Rating: Potential and perspectives of multi-functional cities under crisis
Ukraine is a country with relatively high level of urbanization. There are 459 cities in Ukraine, which are home to 31.6 million people, or 68% of overall country's population. A significant part of urban population resides in small and middle-size cities. At that, around one third of small and middle-size cities are to certain extent multifunctional. Such cities are traditionally more vulnerable to adverse impact of financial and industrial crisis, since their welfare is directly dependant upon efficient performance of companies, which are core for the municipality. Thereat, the intensity of adverse impact is often contingent upon several factors: type of economic development of the territory, which hosts the municipality; specialization of the company, which is core for the municipality, and its place in production chain; uniqueness of products manufactured or services furnished. |
