Survey of Ukraine’s Economy Development in April 2010
April saw decline in rates of industrial production growth versus March 2010, however the output rates are in excess of relatively low comparative base of the previous year. The industrial production rate was recorded at 98% and 117% respectively.
We may expect certain decline in business activities in the metallurgy sector due to volatile external environment. Business activities of construction and retailing companies will not substantially exceed indicators of the previous year and will be constrained by modest growth of effective demand. As the activity of transportation sector depends on that of industrial production, we may anticipate zero growth of freight traffic in the second quarter of the year.
