Banks with Russian Capital Became More Active in Lending to Corporates
Credit-Rating notes that Ukrainian banking institutions are gradually restoring lending to legal entities. According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the amount of loans granted to legal entities in 1Q2010 rose by UAH3bn. At that, the Ukrainian banks with Russian capital increased lending to legal entities by UAH2.6bn. In Credit-Rating’s view, in case such trend retains, corporate customers may shift to banks with Russian capital, which gradually bolster influence of these banks both within the system and on certain borrowers.
Credit-Rating agency has operated in the Ukrainian market since 2001 being committed to assignment of the national scale ratings. The agency has assigned 177 ratings in the financial sector and 88 bank deposit ratings. As at May 1, 2010 the agency’s list of ratings contains 87 credit ratings in the financial sector and 54 bank deposit ratings.
