Seminar “Credit ratings and their role in providing community with information about investment risks”
Seminar Credit ratings and their role in providing community with information about investment risks was held on March 14, 2006 in the press-center of Credit-Rating agency.
The participants of seminar were journalists of Expert-Ukraine, Kommersant-Ukraine, RBK-Ukraine, LigaBusinessInform, correspondents of program Business World (TV Channel UT-1), information agencies, representatives of Academy of Statistics and Audit, Kiev National Economic University.
The goal of seminar was to provide mass media with complete information about essence, content, and role of credit ratings in development of financial market infrastructure as well as to acquaint them with the world-accepted forms and methods of credit rating usage.
General Director of Credit-Rating agency Stanislav Dubko told about the essence of rating assignment, i.e. significance of credit ratings and criteria of their determination, international and national rating scales as well as obligatory rating assignment and readiness of Ukrainian stock market to it.
Mass media representatives were also acquainted with the legal framework, regulating rating assignment in Ukraine, principles and code of laws of rating agency activities, and activity of international rating agencies in our country.
In addition, the usage of credit ratings under national financial market conditions: advantages of continuous rating history creation for issuers, and sector of national and international ratings usage were considered.
