Loan portfolio management – first lessons of the crisis

Extra Consulting company in cooperation with Credit-Rating agency, Ukrprombank and UK-Ukraine Professional Network are privileged to invite experts from your bank to take part in our next meeting from Five O'Clock Tea cycle. The goal of these meetings is discussion of urgent topics concerning development of Ukraines banking system. The topic for the upcoming event is Loan Portfolio Management First Lessons of the Crisis.

The financial crisis revealed a number of problems in activities of many Ukraine's banks. Among these problems are non-optimal organization of banks business procedures, absence of development strategy under crisis, poor control over concentrations and quality of the loan portfolio, absence of set technology as for treatment bad borrowers, imperfect system of evaluation of interest, currency and liquidity risks, inefficient financial planning and budget control.

The topic of the meeting is exchange of experience in loan portfolio management under crisis and discussion of ways for solving such problems by improvement of existing banking technologies.

  • What are the primary methods for treatment NPLs? What data is efficient to be based upon in selecting ways of treatment of NPLs?

Conducted by:

Mustafayeva Dilyara, Head for Credit-Ratings Risk Management Division and Director of the agencys Department for Methodology Development and Prospective Researches. Previous job experience: Deputy Director of Financial Risk Department in Kreditprombank, Head of Credit Analysis Division in Ukrprombank, Head of Risk Management Division in Aval Bank. Ms. Mustafayeva specializes in analysis and mitigation of credit risks (analysis of projects, evaluation of the borrowers financial capacity, reserve allocations, assessment of security pledged, securitization of loans, development of methodology for lending transactions, etc.). Ms. Mustafayeva enjoys a vast experience in presentations at seminars and conferences covering credit risk management.

Conditions of the Event:

  1. For banks representatives only.
  2. Participation in the event is free of charge for one representative from each bank.
  3. The amount of fee for other bank's representative(s) is UAH495 per person (excl. VAT, general tax).
  4. The banks representative(s) will be registered only on condition that the questionnaire covering organizing the risk management in the bank is filled in.
  5. The application for participation in the event must be signed by a member of the Board.
  6. Application deadline is March 13, 2009.
