Revision of methodology of the banks’ rating assignment
Credit-Rating, a nationally-recognized credit rating agency in Ukraine has today announced the revision of its rating estimation methodology for Ukrainian banks. The new format of methodology takes into account the high level of banks operational stability to external changes especially the political conflicts in 2004 and 2007. Over the past four years, the banking system of Ukraine has demonstrated the ability to operate under adverse conditions and not to react under these conditions. Besides, the new methodology takes into account the high level of effectiveness of the banks regulation by the state as compared to the regulation of other sectors in Ukraine. Reappraisal of the level of influence for the abovementioned factors for banking institutions affected the revision of a number of rating assignments. As a result of this revision, the ratings of separate banks and debts instruments have been upgraded.

Credit-Rating Agency was established in 2001. The agencys specialization is the assignment of credit ratings according to the Ukrainian National Scale. Since 2003, Credit-Rating Agency has assigned 560 ratings to Ukrainian enterprises, banks, insurance companies and municipalities including 58 credit ratings to Ukrainian banks, 15 ratings to financial institutions and 7 ratings to insurance companies.
