Credit-Rating rates Ista-Centre CJSC at uaBBB+
Credit-Rating, a nationally recognized credit rating agency in Ukraine has today announced that it assigned a long-term credit rating of uaBBB+ (uaBBB plus) to Dnepropetrovsk-based Ista-Centre CJSC (`issuer` or `company`). The company`s principal activity is production of rechargeable batteries for vehicles, agricultural and other machinery. In the course of analysis Credit-Rating considered issuer`s financial statements for 2002-2007 as well as its other inside information.
An obligor or a debt liability with uaBBB credit rating is characterized with the SUFFICIENT creditworthiness as compared to other Ukrainian obligors or debt liabilities. This level of creditworthiness is affected by adverse changes in commercial, financial and economic conditions. A plus "+" and a minus "-" signs indicate intermediary categories compared to the standard categories (grades).
Factors maintaining the credit rating
- The strong market positions of NAK ISTA, the issuer is incorporated with, on Ukraine`s and CIS`s markets.
- The issuer is well supplied with the principal raw material (NAK ISTA incorporates Ukrsplav LLC, which supplies 80% of the corporation`s demand for lead and lead-containing alloys).
- High growth rates in the number of vehicles over the past few years in Ukraine, which will further bolster demand for batteries.
Factors constraining the credit rating
- Issuer`s dependency upon prices for lead and lead-containing alloys, which tend to fluctuate.
