Credit-Rating: Potential and perspectives of multi-functional cities under crisis
In Credit-Rating’s opinion, the creditworthiness of the majority of multi-functional cities, which are assigned national scale ratings, remains satisfactory. This is due to industry-related peculiarities of city-forming companies, which have not been affected by adversities of the crisis yet. A moderate debt burden imposed by obligors of this kind, and the credit discipline of local authorities, which has evolved in the recent years, contribute to financial reinforcement of multi-functional cities.
In formerly published materials we focused on key challenges faced by industrial cities in terms of meeting their debt obligations. The present research features agency’s opinion with regard to impact of Ukraine’s economic downturn on social and economic development of municipalities and to primary factors affecting creditworthiness of the latter.
