Credit-Rating: April Saw 2 Defaults on Bonds with Speculative Ratings
Credit-Rating has today published statistical data on bond issues with agency’s ratings, repaid in April 2010.
According to prospectuses of issues, 6 outstanding issues of rated housing bonds for the amount of UAH273.5m matured in April.
The issuers have redeemed 4 issues for UAH108.3m, with other 2 bond issues for overall amount of UAH165.2m remaining unpaid in due terms. All credit ratings of defaulted bond issues pertained to speculative grade of the rating scale. As of today the issuers are being involved in negotiations with investors as to final repayments of their obligations in later terms and are making exchanges of bonds for agreements on proprietary rights.
Credit-Rating agency has operated in the Ukrainian market since 2001 being committed to assignment of the national scale ratings. The agency has assigned 1081 ratings. As at May 1, 2010 the agency’s list of ratings included 638 ratings: 493 in corporate, 98 in financial and 47 in municipal sectors.
