Credit-Rating Assigns Platinum Bank PJSC uaA
Credit-Rating, a nationally recognized credit rating agency in Ukraine has today announced that it assigned a long-term credit rating of uaA to Kiev-based Platinum Bank PJSC (‘bank’) and its issue of registered coupon bonds (series A) for the amount of UAH100m. Both ratings carry stable outlook. In the course of the rating procedure Credit-Rating considered bank’s financial statements for 2005-2009 and 1H2010 and its other inside information.
An obligor or a debt liability with uaA credit rating is characterized with the HIGHLY STRONG creditworthiness as compared to other Ukrainian obligors or debt liabilities. This level of creditworthiness is susceptible to adverse changes in commercial, financial and economic conditions.
Stable outlook indicates that there are no anticipated reasons to change the rating in the course of the year.

Diversification of the Bank’s loan portfolio by major borrowers.

High capitalization and liquidity ratios.

Bank’s assets and liabilities are well-balanced by their due terms.

High performance efficiency indicators.

Bank’s openness and transparency.
Factors constraining the credit rating

The Bank operates in the most risky sectors of lending.

High volume of net credit risk coupled with considerable portion of loans provided in foreign currencies to the customers that have no receipts in foreign currencies, which makes the bank more vulnerable to credit risk and may negatively affect its liquidity and capitalization.

Retaining adverse environment in the financial market and real sector of economy which may undermine solvency of bank’s borrowers and weigh on bank’s financial indicators.
